One of the

most classic

and reliable

shotguns of the Savage/Stevens

line was the

Model 311 side by side shotgun. Thousands of hunters

and recreational shooters have used the 311 because

of its fine construction and durability.

This specimen was sold by Sears and so marked with its store model 101-7. But it is a Model 311 through and through. This shotgun

appears to have seen little use and the marks on

it we feel are more from improper storage than use

. It is still in excellent condition retaining 99.5% plus original finish-which is a low salt "blackish blue" finish for Sears.

The gun in 12 gauge is IMP and FULL choked. It has a NEAR MINT bore except for a "tiny" mark inside caused by a small dent in one of the 30" barrels. It is a mark not a dent inside and the rest of bore is "mirror". There is a tiny bit of "pin-prick" patina rear of breech and some slight blue missing at breech. Other than that it does not have any wear. The stock has some marks but againnot appearing from use. Overall an excellent recreational shotgun.
